Boston Red Sox may have won their World Series title more than 3,000 miles away from Liverpool, but Brendan Rodgers is hoping some of the Fenway Sports Group magic will rub off on Anfield.
The Red Sox's first World Series title for 95 years is, for Rodgers, clear proof of John Henry and the Fenway group's success mantra, something that has been lacking in recent seasons on both sides of the Atlantic.
Liverpool fans have often criticised Henry and his organisation, with managerial appointments – and indeed sackings – that have had little-to-no impact on their eventual title ambitions.
However, Rodgers believes that is changing, saying today: "I've sent [the Red Sox] my congratulations, and I saw the images on the TV this morning. It's brilliant for them.

"It's another demonstration that [FSG] are an organisation that have proven to be successful. The way they're making changes to bring that success.
"It's very clear they're a group that have a clear and deliberate plan to get success."
But when asked if a victory in baseball could translate to a concerted push for the Premier League title, Rodgers was a bit more realistic.
"In baseball it's totally different, especially with regards to contracts and such," he added. "You could be on contract one day and out the next.
"It takes that bit longer in [football]. But you have to give a big congratulations to [FSG] for what they’re doing [with Liverpool], which is sensible, whilst recognising the expectancy, which is to succeed.
"And for us, that is the longer-term aim – to be up there competing for and winning titles. There's no shying away from that."
