Fabio Borini's wife is threatening to scupper a move from Liverpool to Lazio for the forward, it has been claimed.

Lazio are in talks with Liverpool about signing the former Roma forward, with the club's coach Stefano Pioli having become convinced that Borini would represent the perfect reinforcement for his attacking options next season.

While Lazio prefer to take Borini on loan and then buy him permanently later, Liverpool favour an outright sale immediately.

The Italian side remain confident of reaching an agreement with Liverpool, but convincing Borini to agree to the move himself could prove difficult.

According to Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, Borini's model wife Erin O'Neill is not keen on leaving England and would prefer her husband to remain within the Premier League.

The model splits her time between Liverpool and London and knows that a switch to Italy would mean a big change in her lifestyle.

The pair were married in Tuscany in early June and Lazio have to convince Erin as well as Fabio that moving to Italy is the right call.

Mr and Mrs Borini have just returned from honeymoon and a decision may now be expected sooner rather than later.
