Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that negotiations to extend William Gallas’s contract remain firmly on track. The French defender’s current contract is due to run out at the end of the season, but despite the fact that Gallas will turn 33-years-old in August, Wenger seems very keen to retain his services.
Wenger, when asked of the situation, told the press "It’s going well." He then said that he would be the one to say if and when anything was agreed. "Let’s keep the negotiations confidential. If we come to a conclusion we will let you know."
The French defender has made in excess of 100 appearances for The Gunners and also enjoyed a spell as club captain.
