Although Wayne Rooney is the man everybody talks about in the Manchester United squad, Park Ji-Sung has continued to be one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s most reliable players since his transfer from PSV Eindhoven in 2005. The South Korea captain played a crucial role in the dismantling of AC Milan last night, and his manager made sure he received due credit.
“Park was the key to our game,” the Scottish tactician told MUTV. “We can talk about Rooney – and he was great – but Park’s discipline, intelligence and sacrifice won us the match tactically. Pirlo is such an important player for them.”
Park scored Man Utd’s third goal as well, his second of the season, to cap off a very impressive performance in midfield.
