Atletico Madrid host Valencia on Thursday night, holding a slight advantage on away goals in the all-Spanish Europa League quarter-final. Along with having the upper hand in the tie, striker Diego Forlan believes his side are coming into form at just the right time of the season.

"The first few months of the season were pretty complicated but with the passage of time we have all begun to see the fruits of our hard work," claimed Forlan on UEFA.com. "The coach sets good standards, the players have accepted his ideas and probably that’s why we are doing so well in three competitions at the moment."

Along with the opportunity to progress to the semi-final of the Europa League, Atletico are also in the final of the Copa del Rey.
