According to BBC Sport, Robin van Persie could be set for a dramatic return to action on Wednesday, when Arsenal face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. The prolific striker has been out since November after rupturing ankle ligaments in an international friendly against Italy.

Before being forced to the sidelines, the Dutchman was in fine form in front of goal, with a tally of eight goals in 11 matches and eight assists to add as well. His return could prove to be a timely boost for The Gunners, who are set to play Spurs, Wigan Athletic and Manchester City in quick succession.

Should Arsenal win the North London Derby on Wednesday, they will leapfrog second placed Manchester United, and be a step closer to winning their first Premier League title since 2004.
