According to Spanish paper Marca, Real Madrid’s board will be meeting on Wednesday to discuss the fate of under-fire manager Manuel Pellegrini. Speculation has been rife that the former Villarreal boss is on his way out of the club after a trophy-less first season in charge.
Despite setting a new points total record for the club in La Liga, Pellegrini’s lack of success in other competitions will likely see him sacked as manager. Real are notorious for having very little patience with those they place in charge, and the Chilean is likely to suffer the consequences of such high expectations.
The Madrid club are eyeing Inter Milan’s outspoken manager Jose Mourinho as the man to replace the 56-year-old.
