Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has added to speculation claiming Barcelona forward Thierry Henry could be just about ready to give up top flight football, to move to the United States’ MLS.

The Scottish tactician was speaking at a press conference launching his club’s preseason tour in America, but found time to respond to matters that didn’t concern Man Utd. “He would be a success here,” Ferguson exclaimed. “He’s a very talented player who’s never overwhelmed with anything. He may not have the blistering speed he had five years ago, but he would be a success here.”

Although Henry is still under contract with Barcelona until 2011, reports claim the former Arsenal hero could be set to sign a two-year deal with the New York Red Bulls.
