Reports from Italy suggest Manchester City have made an offer of €24M for Inter striker Mario Balotelli. Tuttosport claim City boss Roberto Mancini is keen to bag the striker and believes that Balotelli may be ready for a switch in light of the often uneasy relationship he endured with the San Siro club last season.

However, €24M appears to be way below Inter’s valuation of their 19-year-old striker, especially given his potential. The Italians are believed to want a bid of €40M just to consider allowing Balotelli to leave.

Further complicating the matter is the arrival of Rafael Benitez at the European Champions as their new coach. Benitez has an open mind on Balotelli and would by no means be keen to lose the services of such an explosive striker before he has barely settled into the hotseat.
