Brazilian full back Rafinha is expected to be in demand this summer with reports from Italy suggesting Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to go head-to-head for the Genoa star’s signature.

The 25-year-old shot to prominence with Dortmund’s Ruhr rivals Schalke, standing out as an exceptional attacking full back. However, despite repeated talk of a move to greener pastures, no switch away from the German side materialised until Genoa completed a deal last summer, with Rafinha signing a four-year contract in Italy.

Now though Rafinha could be on the move again, with Dortmund and Spurs both believed to be seriously interested in taking the player from Serie A at the end of the season.

Rafinha himself is thought to have indicated that he would prefer a move to White Hart Lane, especially having turned out in the Bundesliga before for Dortmund’s bitter rivals. Under contract until 2014 however, Rafinha will cost a substantial fee.
