Roma are being tipped to revive their interest in Uruguayan defender Diego Lugano in the summer.
Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport report that the capital club, who have trailed the centre back before, are ready to mount a swoop at the end of the season when they expect Philippe Mexes to leave the club.
30-year-old Lugano currently turns out for Turkish giants Fenerbahce, a club he has represented since 2006. After last summer’s World Cup in South Africa, the Uruguayan was believed to be angling for a move, but ended up remaining in Istanbul.
The opportunity to head to Italy and Serie A would surely appeal to the tough-tackling stopper.
