Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo looks set to be at the centre of a bitter transfer tug-of-war this summer. The Brazilian schemer is widely expected to leave Turin after failing to convince at the Bianconeri, but his stock remains high enough to attract much interest.

The 27-year-old switched to Juventus in 2009 from Fiorentina and La Viola are interested in re-signing their former star. The defensive midfielder could be willing to move back to Florence and such a transfer would ensure he remains in Serie A.

However, Fiorentina will face competition. German duo Borussia Dortmund and Schalke are both keen, while Brazilian side Cortinhians are desperate to take the player back to his homeland. Interest from English club Arsenal is also possible with boss Arsene Wenger a confirmed fan of Melo.

There also exists another intriguing possibility – that of including Melo in a swap deal with Liverpool for Alberto Aquilani. The Italian has spent the season on loan in Turin, but Juventus consider the €16M Liverpool require for a permanent transfer to be too high.
