Veteran midfielder Andrea Pirlo has confirmed that he is bowing out of AC Milan after ten years with the club.

The playmaker has been key to some of Milan’s greatest successes of the last decade, but his contract with the Serie A giants is not being renewed and Pirlo has revealed he will be bidding farewell to familiar surroundings.

While the Italian has been linked with a move to Juventus, nothing has yet been confirmed.

"I am here to say goodbye", said Pirlo at a press conference yesterday.

"It was ten unforgettable years at this club."

Asked whether he hoped Milan would regret allowing him to leave, Pirlo answered: "Yes".

The Rossoneri are still deep in discussions with Clarence Seedorf over a new deal, with the Dutchman himself running out of contract. Mark van Bommel, Alessandro Nesta and Flavio Roma meanwhile have penned one-year extensions.
