Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has dismissed suggestions that his side will focus on their upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Everton, rather than the Premier League.
Dalglish’s men have suffered an appalling league campaign thus far, with eleven defeats from 32 games and a position of eighth at present, well adrift of the European places the team were expected to be fighting for.
There is still the chance of a remarkable cup double for Liverpool though, with the League Cup already firmly secured in the trophy cabinet, and just two more games ahead for a possible FA Cup win.
Dalglish might have been expected then to prioritise the FA Cup rather than the club’s remaining Premier League games – but the Scot does not see the situation like that.
"We want to win every game we play in and we try to do that", the Liverpool boss told his club’s official site, looking ahead to tonight’s meeting with Blackburn Rovers.
"It’ll be no different on Tuesday night.
"We need to get Tuesday done and dusted before we get ourselves and our minds focused on Saturday.
"The players are used to it. If you play for Liverpool Football Club, every game is a big game."
Despite Dalglish’s words, with the FA Cup semi-final looming on Saturday, Liverpool would be forgiven for having their thoughts elsewhere.
