Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta does not believe the Italian champions need to splash the cash in the January transfer window, particularly up front, where he feels they already carry enough of a threat.

The Bianconeri have been linked with Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente and Arsenal forward Theo Walcott, in addition to a number of other names.

But January is not expected to be a busy month in Turin, Marotta has confirmed.

"If we consider last year’s championship and the first part of the current campaign, Juventus have the most prolific attack", Marotta told his club’s official site.

"We’ve scored 94 goals and we’ve never had difficulties in putting the ball in the back of the net", he continued.

"We’re the team with the highest number of different goalscorers and our tactical ethos is geared towards players breaking forward, so it’s not just the strikers who get on the scoresheet.

"Let’s also remember that last year we had the strongest defence and the best goal difference."

Marotta did leave the door slightly open for arrivals however, by stressing he understands that the Bianconeri must continue to improve.

"We know it’s our duty to improve but there’s no demand to plug gaps in January."

At present Juventus sit top of Serie A, albeit with only a slender two-point lead over second-placed Napoli.

However, the reigning champions remain strong favourites to retain the title this season and, with coach Antonio Conte soon due to return to the dugout after serving his suspension, will be boosted for the second half of the campaign.

Juventus are also still involved in the Champions League and are in the driving seat to qualify. Avoiding defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk on the final matchday will send the Bianconeri through to the Round of 16.
