Anderlecht legend Jan Mulder has hailed the talent of Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard, adding that the inventive Belgian schemer certainly belongs to the "world-class" category.

Hazard, who joined eventual Europa League winners Chelsea from Ligue 1 side Lille in June of last year for €40m, made immediate impact at Stamford Bridge in his first season with the club.

Although he was hampered later in the 2012/13 campaign with injury, Hazard made strides to reflect his massive transfer fee. Indeed, he was responsible for 38 of the club’s goals (14 scored, 24 assisted), which he tallied during his 62 appearances in all competitions.

"I love Hazard. He is world-class and he is a genius with the ball. Of course, this is my personal opinion but I really like this player", Mulder told RTBF.

The former Anderlecht and Ajax man also said Hazard, along with others in the Belgium national team, may well be the key to the Red Devils’ 2014 World Cup success.

"Hazard, [Mousa] Dembele, [Nacer] Chadli, [Christian] Benteke, [Romelu] Lukaku – they are really great players. This is good for the country", Mulder said.

"Don’t say it’s crazy to think about Belgium winning the World Cup. Why not? Belgium has great players", the Dutchman added.
