Gabonese former footballer Pierre Aubameyang, father of Saint-Etienne star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has admitted that they would be open to talks with principality club Monaco provided the club approach him about his son first.
The younger Aubameyang definitely did his father proud during the 2012/13 campaign, scoring 19 goals and providing 14 assists in his 37 league appearances for Saint-Etienne, a feat that led the club to a fifth-placed finish which sees them earn Europa League qualification.
Aubameyang’s talent is believed to have turned heads in England as well, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur heavily linked with a swoop for the 23-year-old striker.
But the player’s father does not rule out a move to rich club Monaco, telling RTL, "If they come and see me directly, then we would definitely be open to have a discussion with them."
