English Premier League giants Chelsea have announced that they have formally completed the signing of German forward Andre Schurrle from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
Both clubs reached an agreement for the player on 13th June and the Blues confirmed that the 22-year-old penned a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge, and he will be presented with the No.14 shirt.
“I am so happy now I have signed and it is an honour for me to play for this club, with this team and for these great fans”, Schurrle told his new club’s official site.
“I am really looking forward to it.”

The former Mainz player, who can play either as a creative wide player or a central attacker, clocked up 34 appearances in the Bundesliga last season, scoring 11 times and assisting on seven occasions as the Lions finished third in the league.
He also impressed for Mainz in the 2010/11 season, as he scored 15 Bundesliga goals out of 34 matches, creating a club record, and helping his boyhood club finish fifth in the league in that season.
Schurrle has also earned 24 caps for his national side.
