Tottenham Hotspur’s imminent capture of €30m-rated striker Roberto Soldado means Valencia are eyeing a move for Real Zaragoza’s Helder Postiga that could be complete by the end of this week.
According to Spanish outlet Super Deporte, Valencia are keen to sign a quick replacement for Soldado, who is largely expected to move to Spurs this summer.
Yesterday, it had emerged that Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud was on Valencia’s radar as well, but a more realistic option seems to be former Spurs man Postiga.
The Portuguese, who played at White Hart Lane for a season in 2003/04, has been at Zaragoza for two years but could not prevent their relegation.

Valencia will be hoping to conclude a deal for Postiga for a fee in the region of €3m, to continue the 30-year-old’s stay within top flight football.
Postiga had been a much heralded name in international football in the previous decade, especially thanks to his performances for Portugal, for whom he has earned 61 caps.
His domestic career has seen him play for FC Porto, Sporting Lisbon, Saint-Etienne and Greek side Panathinaikos.
Whilst at Tottenham, Postiga could only manage 19 games, but did ply his trade under managers Glen Hoddle and current Norwich boss Chris Hughton.
