Former Arsenal striker Nwankwo Kanu underwent heart surgery in the United States at the weekend.
The 37-year-old has had heart trouble before and underwent surgery in 1996 while under contract at Italian giants Inter.

Now, according to French outlet Maxifoot, Kanu has undergone surgery again after an examination revealed a problem. The ex-Nigeria striker regularly undergoes examinations to check on his heart.
Kanu is best known for his spell at Arsenal between 1999 and 2004, during which time he won two Premier League titles, two FA Cups and one Community Shield.

He ended his career at another English club in the form of Portsmouth in 2012.
At international level Kanu won 86 caps for Nigeria, scoring 13 goals.
