Former defender Fabio Grosso has been appointed coach of Juventus' Primavera team.

The Primavera side, which is Juventus' youth side, will now be guided by the 2006 World Cup winner, who takes over a little over a 18 months after retiring as a player.

The 36-year-old finished his professional career at Juventus, enjoying a spell with the Bianconeri from 2009 until 2012, joining the club from Lyon.

Grosso's career also took in notable spells at Palermo and Inter.

The former left-back won 48 caps for Italy at international level between 2003 and 2009.

Grosso's international highlight came in at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, which Italy won.
