Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola expects Manchester United to try and hit his side on the counter-attack during tomorrow's Champions League clash.

The first leg of the quarter-final tie between the two teams ended 1-1 at Old Trafford, leaving the question of who will progress to the semi-finals very much open.

Manchester United will need to score in Munich, but Guardiola believes they will adopt a defensive approach and look to hit his team during transitions – something he rates the Red Devils as very good at.

"It's never easy against English teams. I think they will sit deep", he told a press conference.

"They play defensively and always on the counter-attack, and they do that very, very well."

Guardiola also insisted his hands are somewhat tied when it comes to picking the team to face the Red Devils tomorrow evening.

"We have only 14 players from the first team, therefore I don't have many options.

"If we win we'll go through. If not, we'll be eliminated. It will depend on the little details."
