Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski for his performance in yesterday's FA Cup semi-final win over Wigan Athletic.

The contest between the two clubs at Wembley ended 1-1 after extra-time, taking the semi-final to penalties. And there Fabianski impressed.

The Pole saved the opening two Wigan spot-kicks to put Arsenal firmly in command and the Gunners ran out 4-2 winners, progressing to the FA Cup final.

Fabianski had rewarded Wenger, who kept faith with him, despite countryman Wojciech Szczesny being first choice for Premier League and Champions League duty.

"He did very well. I think he's a good goalkeeper and he has shown that again", Wenger said of Fabianski, via his club's site.

"During the game, even on the penalty they scored he went the right way.

"He's quick and in the penalties of course he put us in quite a comfortable way and into a good position."
