Harry Forrester has insisted that although Martyn Waghorn being sidelined is a big loss for Rangers, he is sure that his team-mates have the ability to cover for the striker’s absence by chipping in with goals from all across the field.
Waghorn, who has scored 28 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions for Rangers since joining the club from Wigan Athletic in the summer, has been out of action since picking up a knee injury during the Gers’2-1 win over Kilmarnock in a Scottish Cup game in mid-February.
However, Rangers have managed to win all four matches since Waghorn’s spell on the sidelines started, with Mark Warburton’s team scoring eight goals in the process.
And Forrester, who has himself found the back of the net three times in Waghorn’s absence, wants his team-mates to continue chipping in with goals until the 26-year-old returns.
“We’ve got a good squad. Whoever is picked I’m sure will chip in with goals”, he said in his pre-match press conference yesterday.

“Martyn is a big loss for us. Hopefully he makes it back for us; if not whoever fills his places will perform on the day and do the best they can.
“Goals are coming at the moment, goals from all over. We miss Martyn with his 27 goals. He’s a big miss obviously and we have to chip in from all over the field.”
Rangers, who are unbeaten in their last 14 games in all competitions, winning 12 of those, will next face Greenock Morton in a Scottish Championship clash tomorrow.
