Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident that his team will respond to their FA Cup exit with a positive performance against Barcelona on Wednesday night.
The Gunners’ hopes of winning their third FA Cup on the bounce came to a screeching halt on Sunday when Watford scored a famous 2-1 win over them in the quarter-final stage at the Emirates.
While the Hornets progressed to the semi-finals, Wenger’s men were left licking their wounds, with a daunting Champions League last 16 away leg against Barcelona ahead of them.
Arsenal lost the first leg 2-0 at the Emirates, and are odds on favourites to again exit the competition in the last 16 stage this season at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night, but Wenger is not giving up hope.
Wenger has insisted that his team have already shown this season that they have the ability to respond after a tough defeat, and is confident that they can do the same in Catalunya on Wednesday night.

The Frenchman told the club’s official website: “We have shown that we can always respond.
“This team has a great spirit and a very strong attitude. They play at the moment with the idea that you cannot afford any negative results.
“We can deal with that and we will deal with the fact that we have a good opportunity to show on Wednesday that we are up for it.”
Arsenal have exited the Champions League in the last 16 stage for five seasons running, and are expected to do the same in this term too.
