Lazio winger Felipe Anderson has revealed that he was surprised by the speculation stating that Manchester United had agreed to sign him.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Brazilian winger for the last year, and the Serie A giants did reject an offer from the Red Devils for Anderson last summer.
There was speculation earlier this year that Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign the Brazilian from Lazio, but it was swiftly denied and Anderson himself insisted that he had no idea about the rumours.
Speaking to Globo Esporte about the Manchester United reports, the winger said: “It was a little strange. I was at home and many close friends saw on the internet [the stories I had been sold] and my family also saw. I talked to them and no one knew anything and neither did I.
“My desire is to stay here. I still have a lot to show, but the main thing is the team and doing the best for Lazio.”

Anderson insisted that he is not even thinking about leaving the Serie A giants at the moment, and wants to replay the club for the faith they have shown in him since signing him from Santos in 2013.
The Brazilian added: “The president and the team have welcomed me here with open arms.
“I don't have a dream [of joining a big European club] in particular. I always dreamed of playing in Europe since I was young and I have been living that dream for three years.
"Lazio believed in me so much, so I'm trying to do my best. At the right time, it will happen. I am down to earth and I want to show that I have potential."
Anderson’s form has dipped this season, but he has still managed to score eight goals provide five assists for his team-mates in 38 appearances in all competitions.
