Leeds United winger Jordan Botaka has revealed his happiness at seeing PSV Eindhoven put up a fight against Atletico Madrid last night.

Going into the Champions League last 16 tie, the Spanish giants were the odds on favourites to make it to the quarter-finals of the competition, but PSV made them sweat in both legs.

Their clash became the first Champions League knockout tie to end goalless after two legs, and Atletico Madrid eventually qualified for the last eight of the competition after a long and tense penalty shootout last night at the Vicente Calderon.

Phillip Cocu’s men made it tough for the Spanish giants in both legs, and Botaka, who played for Eredivisie outfit SBV Excelsior before joining Leeds, was pleased to see the fight and gumption showed by PSV.

The Leeds winger took to Twitter and wrote: “What a pleasure to see PSV fight.

“Class.”

Botaka will be hoping to show the same fight and gumption to win his place back in the Leeds team and earn more minutes at Elland Road before the end of the season, as he is out of favour with head coach Steve Evans.
