Rangers manager Mark Warburton has praised his Falkirk counterpart Peter Houston for managing to keep the Bairns in the Scottish Championship title race, ahead of the teams’ league meeting on Friday night.
Despite operating on a shoestring budget, Houston’s Falkirk team currently find themselves second in the league standings with 58 points from 29 games, 14 behind leaders Rangers, who have a game in hand.
Falkirk are undefeated in their last six Scottish Premiership outings, winning three of those.
And Warburton, who lauded Houston for helping Falkirk put a string of positive results together, insisted that his side are expecting a tough encounter in the top of the table clash.
“I think Peter has done a magnificent job”, he said in his pre-match press conference yesterday.

“Given the staff and the players, he has done a first class job. We talked earlier about putting a run together, it’s hard for any team in any division to put a run together.
“And they’ve done that and they’ve stayed on track all through the season so it’s all credit to Peter and his staff, tremendous job and we know it’s going to be a tough game on Friday night and we’re looking forward to it.”
Rangers, who lost 2-1 in their previous visit to the Falkirk Community Stadium in December, have however managed to beat Houston’s team twice at Ibrox in the present campaign, with the latest coming in the form of a 1-0 win at the end of January.
