Leeds United head coach Steve Evans admits that his side have not always been deserving of the support they have received from the fans this season.
After a chastening 4-0 loss at Brighton last month, Leeds’ performance and results have seen an upturn with three wins on the trot over Bolton, Cardiff and Blackburn respectively.
Moving up to 13th in the league table, the club are expecting a large turnout of around 28,000 at Elland Road for Saturday’s Yorkshire derby against Huddersfield and Evans admits that the level of support they have received has been humbling.
The Leeds boss has thanked the Elland Road faithful for supporting the team during trying times this season and admits that at some point his boys didn’t deserve that level of support from the fans.
The Leeds boss said on LUTV: “The first and the most appropriate thing to do is to thank the Leeds United supporters, for turning up in such big numbers.

“We are learning it is going to be close to 30,000 [on Saturday], and on the back of three wins, you could possibly think that you can get some more supporters to back the team, but to see that level of numbers is quiet staggering.
“I am humbled, and I have said this many times, I am humbled to serve this football club.
“Sometimes we have been undeserving of their support and the way they turn up, but hopefully after the last three games, we will be deserving and make it four games.”
Leeds are harbouring genuine hopes of finishing in the top ten and will be hoping that their fans keep backing their team until the end of the season in order to help them to achieve their goals.
