Ronny Deila accepts his Celtic side did not play well at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock, but stressed at the business end of the season the three points are the most crucial thing.

Celtic struggled to find a way past Killie until Deila introduced Tom Rogic from the bench and the Australian produced a superb goal at the death, unleashing a 25 yard strike which flew into the back of the net.

Before then both sides had had opportunities, with Kris Boyd posing questions of Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon, while Erik Sviatchenko had a header cleared off the line for the visitors.

It was Rogic's strike which won it though and combined with Aberdeen losing at Motherwell means Celtic are now four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a game in hand.

And that, for Deila, is the most important thing.

He said via his club's site: "It was very frustrating.

"We didn’t play well at all but you get answers from that, but in the end when you get three points the day is perfect.

"I was so pleased with Tom coming on and doing that and I think the fans were fantastic as well.

"They are always good but today was even better because we didn’t play well but they stood behind the team all the way and they got the reward in the end. It was a fantastic feeling.

"It’s good to celebrate a victory, that’s why we do this. The fans were so good today and there was so much emotion for me and all the others so it was a good day in the end", Deila added.

Celtic are now next in action after the international break when they host Hearts at Paradise on 2nd April.
