New Bhoy Erik Sviatchenko is eager to get his first goal for Celtic, and is confident that he will soon open his account for the Scottish champions.

The 24-year-old centre half has taken little time to nail down a starting spot in the Celtic team since arriving from FC Midtjylland during the January transfer window, with ten appearances already under his belt, the latest being in a 1-0 win at Kilmarnock today.

Despite his impressive performances at the back, the defender remains keen to open his account at the other end, and wants to score his first goal for his new club as soon as possible.

The Celtic defender was quoted as saying by Danish outlet Bold: “I have actually had a few chances, I must admit.

“I don’t tend to wait too long [to score my first goal], but it must surely come. I came up against 190-195 centimeters tall defenders, but I feel good.”

Sviatchenko found the back of the net eleven times for FC Midtjylland before joining Celtic in January, and has also scored once for Denmark on the international stage.

Celtic's only goal at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock came courtesy of Tom Rogic.
