Falkirk manager Peter Houston has admitted that Rangers absolutely blew his team apart in the first half of their 3-2 win over the Gers in a Scottish Championship game on Friday night.

Rangers, who headed into the game on the back of a 15-match unbeaten streak, were 2-0 up by the ninth minute at the Falkirk Community Stadium, courtesy of goals from Kenny Miller and Barrie McKay.

Mark Warburton’s side totally outplayed the home team and were unlucky not to head into the half-time break with a bigger lead.

But Falkirk managed to turn the game around in the second half as late goals from Blair Alston, Myles Hippolyte and Bob McHugh secured a remarkable come from behind victory for the Bairns.

And Houston, who was pleased to see his substitutes proving to be the difference in the game, however, insisted that Falkirk were fortunate to go into half-time just two goals behind.

"I've got to give credit to Rangers, they absolutely blew us apart", he told told BBC Scotland.

"Their pace, their power, their movement off the ball [and] their energy off the ball was far greater than ours.

"The only happy thing I could speak about in the dressing room was the fact it was only 2-0. It could have been four or five at least.

"We made a couple of changes, the changes worked.

"Myles Hippolyte made a difference and Bob McHugh, I'm delighted for him because he's had an injury-prone season so far. I know for a fact he's a goalscorer.

"We were poor in the first half. I say we were poor because I thought Rangers were really good and all credit to them for the way they came back.

"It sums up Falkirk this season."

Falkirk are currently a place and 11 points behind Rangers, albeit having played a game more than the Scottish Championship leaders.
