Rangers assistant boss David Weir has insisted that the Gers should not read too much into a bad game against Falkirk on Friday night.
Despite a disappointing 3-2 defeat last week, Mark Warburton’s men are still at the top of the Scottish Championship table and are still eleven points ahead of second placed Falkirk, with one game in hand.
Rangers remain the favourites to win the title by a comfortable margin and earn automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership, but their defeat on Friday night was a setback.
Weir admits that they could have a done few things better against Falkirk, but insisted in the context of the season they should not read too much into a bad spell of 20 minutes, when they conceded the goals.
He conceded that Rangers have lessons to learn from the game, but feels the assessment of the match needs to be a lot more balanced, as they did a number of good things too against Falkirk.

Weir told Rangers TV: “We’ve watched the game back a few times and had discussions, and there are certain things we could have done better and certain things we need to learn from.
“That’s part of the process as always, but it’s important too [that] you don’t draw too many conclusions from a 20 minute spell when you look back at the whole season.
“We conceded three goals in 20 minutes while before then we conceded three goals in nine games. While we have to look at it and learn as we have done, I think we also have to look at the big picture and realise we’ve done a lot of things well too.
“Getting the balance right is important.”
