Young Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah has revealed that the club make sure that the young players are taken good care of and are given all the tools to succeed at Old Trafford.

The young Dutch defender has been one of the stars of Manchester United’s youth teams since joining the club from Ajax in 2014, and recently made his debut for the senior side.




One of the most highly rated youngsters at Old Trafford, Fosu-Mensah already has four senior apperances under his belt, and has been tipped to become a lynchpin of future Manchester United teams.

The youngster has nothing but praise for the club’s treatment of young players and feels with the likes of Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs working at Manchester United, it shows how much they value their academy, despite their spending spree in recent years.
 


He revealed that the Red Devils are always keeping a close watch on the progress of their young players, and provide them all the tools necessary to make a career out of football.

The young defender told Dutch daily De Telegraaf: "That they have kept Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs from the Class of '92 says something about the club and it's very important.

"They have an eye for talent and you just know as a youth player that at United they're always looking at you. They know exactly how you feel at times, and what you're doing wrong and why it's wrong.

"I try to do something with their information, which is important. I know that I still am not there, and that I may soon have to be patient.

“I am still just 18 and just want to do my best.”

Manchester United have been naming at least one academy product in their first team squad since October 1937, a run that has been stretched to 3,792 games.
