England manager Roy Hodgson is of the opinion that Dele Alli has the ability to become a great midfielder like former Manchester United and Three Lions captain Bryan Robson.
Joining Tottenham Hotspur from MK Dons last summer, Alli became a regular starter in Mauricio Pochettino’s team through the sheer weight of his performances, and was soon fast tracked into the senior England set-up.
He already has four international caps to his name, with many believing that he is certain to be in the European Championship squad and Hodgson believes Alli has the tools to become a great midfielder of his generation.
The England boss is confident that despite his tender years, he has the ability to become a towering midfield figure like Robson, who was fondly termed ‘Captain Marvel’ by both Manchester United and England fans.
Speaking about Alli, Hodgson was quoted as saying by the Press Association: “He has genuine all-round ability.
