Former Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic feels pre-season tours are crucial for youngsters if they want to catch the eye of the manager ahead of the new campaign.
Manchester United will be travelling to China this summer for a short pre-season tour, where they will take on Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund as part of the International Champions Cup.
While Sean Goss was the only unknown entity who travelled for their summer tour of the United States last year, with the European Championship and Olympics taking place this year, more youngsters are expected to be part of the pre-season tour squad.
And Vidic believes pre-season is vital for some of the starlets as they look to catch the eye of the manager ahead of the start of the 2016/17 campaign.
When asked about the importance of pre-season tours for young players, the former defender told MUTV: “They’re very important for them to test themselves and it’s important for the club to see if they can play at the top level.
