Erik Sviatchenko has insisted that Celtic will have no problem focusing on their league games before the all-important Old Firm derby next month.

The Hoops, who are en route to winning their fifth consecutive Scottish Premiership title, beat Greenock Morton 3-0 earlier in the month in the Scottish Cup to set up a semi-final date with their arch-rivals Rangers at Hampden on 17th April.

It will be just the second meeting between the two giants of Scottish football since Rangers had to start in the fourth tier following their liquidation in 2012.

And Sviatchenko, who represented Denmark in a friendly against Scotland last night, explained that he is looking forward to being involved in Celtic’s title charge.

"There are so many big games coming up and of course I want to play in them all”, he was quoted as saying by the Herald Scotland.

“This other game [the Old Firm match] is a while away yet and it won't be a problem to focus on the league games. We are all professionals and we are taking it one game at a time."

Celtic, who are currently four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a game in hand, will next face Heart of Midlothian in a home league fixture on Saturday.
