Leeds United supremo Massimo Cellino is said to be launching a bizarre bid to turn around his side's form at Elland Road by employing the help of a whole host of black cats, in addition to charming critical supporters by handing out complimentary Ferrero Rocher at every home match.
The Italian has grown concerned at Leeds' poor performances at Elland Road, the latest seeing the side drubbed 4-1 by Huddersfield Town before the international break.
Leeds have won just five league games at Elland Road this season, the joint second worst record in the Championship, and Cellino is said to have become convinced the ground is cursed.
The Italian is thought to be aiming to release one black cat for every one of his players as they step onto the pitch, with the aim being for the cat to cross the player's path, thereby bringing him good luck for the duration of the game. Should the experiment be successful, sources have insisted that Cellino could make the ritual a fixture at every home game and may even work with other Championship clubs to repeat it on away trips.
The scheme comes amidst a backdrop of claims that Cellino is preparing to win over critical fans by employing the help of one of his homeland's most famous chocolate treats.
Cellino, who is aware that some fans at Elland Road have lost faith in him, is mooted to be ready to have Ferrero Rocher given out to home fans completely free of charge.
It is thought the Italian believes the sweet treat, with hazelnut encased in a wafer shell, along with milk chocolate and chopped hazelnuts, will leave fans in a happy state before kick-off, taking the edge of potentially underwhelming displays on the pitch.
Leeds are currently enduring another disappointing campaign and are currently sitting in 13th spot in the Championship standings.
