Rangers manager Mark Warburton has revealed that he will be looking to bring in a new defensive midfielder during the summer transfer window.
The Gers are marching towards the Scottish Championship title and could secure it, and with it, earn their promotion to the top tier tonight if they manage to beat Dumbarton in front of a packed Ibrox.
With Scottish Premiership football on the horizon, Warburton is already assessing his squad and is looking ahead to the summer transfer window, as he looks to improve the quality of the Rangers squad.
And the Rangers manager admits that strengthening his defensive midfield reserve is going to be one of the targets for the transfer window, as they failed to address the problem in January when Leeds beat them to Toumani Diagouraga’s signature.
When asked about plans to sign a defensive midfielder, the Rangers boss said in a press conference: “We will look for that role.

“Dom [Dominic] Ball has been excellent stepping in; Andy Halliday has been nice enough to play out of position time and time again this season, so the boys have stepped up when asked to do so.
“If all goes well, we will be looking for that key position.”
Rangers are expected to turn their attention towards the summer signings once they secure promotion and have plans to make a real impression on their first season back in the Premiership.
