Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has revealed that he would love to hold on to his place for his side’s Burnley trip on Saturday, but admits that it is not his decision to make.

The 19-year-old goalkeeper made his senior debut for the club in last night’s 1-1 draw to Queens Park Rangers and despite conceding a late penalty, Peacock-Farrell impressed with his calm and composed demeanour between the sticks.

Leeds’ first choice custodian Marco Silvestri is expected to get back his place in the eleven on Saturday after serving his red card suspension, but the Leeds academy product is hoping to retain his spot.

While he admits that the decision rests with Steve Evans, he insisted that all goalkeepers, regardless of their age, always want to play as much football as possible.

When asked whether he would want to give up the shirt on Saturday, the youngster told BBC Radio Leeds after the match: “No, I wouldn’t.

“But whoever plays on Saturday, that’s down to the gaffer and the coaching staff.

“Every goalkeeper wants to play, whether they are 19, 25 or 35.

"So I would want to play, but that’s up to the gaffer.”

The 19-year-old broke into the first team picture this season, and has been a regular part of Leeds’ bench in recent months.
