Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is hoping that his side receive a slice of luck against Manchester United this coming weekend, something he feels was missing at Anfield against Liverpool.

Looking to close the gap on league leaders Leicester City, Spurs dropped two points on Merseyside when they played out a 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

Lloris was in good form throughout the Premier League fixture and made several important saves which ensured Spurs would not lose at Anfield.

The Frenchman feels his men lacked the luck required to take all three points and is hoping it is a different story when Manchester United head to White Hart Lane this coming weekend.

Lloris, who was happy with the mentality his side showed at Anfield, told Spurs TV: "We have a winning mentality and that’s good – not just for this season, but for the future as well.

"We have a young squad but a very determined one and we showed again this weekend that we are strong, we have character and we just needed a bit of luck.

"It didn’t happen here – maybe next time!"

Following last weekend's fixtures, Spurs are now seven points behind Leicester, meaning they will be desperate to avoid dropping points against Louis van Gaal's side.

Manchester United themselves are battling to finish in the top four.
