Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has played down talk he is looking to snap up Granit Xhaka, while admitting that the Gunners are starting to plan for summer additions.
Wenger has been strongly linked with moving to sign the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder, as he aims not to repeat last summer, where the Gunners were the only side out of Europe's top five leagues not to sign a single outfield player.
Arsenal have paid the price with their annual injury crisis and a lack of options playing their part in leaving the side sitting eleven points behind surprise Premier League leaders Leicester City.
At a press conference held this morning, Wenger was asked about talk he wants to sign Xhaka.
And Arsenal's official site quoted the Frenchman as replying: "We are starting to look at people who can strengthen our squad but we are not on any particular case in a concrete way."
