Arsenal and France centre-back Laurent Koscielny says there is room for improvement in his game, while at the age of 31 he feels in good shape.

Koscielny has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League and is now striking up a productive partnership in the heart of Arsenal's defence with new boy Shkodran Mustafi.

He turned 31 years old last month and is considered to be at around the age defenders peak – but Koscielny feels there is still room for improvement in his game.

"I can still make progress in certain areas", he told a press conference while on France duty, when asked about his game.

"Especially in aerial battles. I am working on this at Arsenal", he added.

And Koscielny feels that having entered his 30s he feels in good shape, both on a mental and a physical level.

"I don't know if it's the 30s, but I feel very good physically and mentally. I am a happy man."

The centre-back linked up with Arsenal from French side Lorient in 2010 and won his first Les Bleus cap just a year later.

He has 38 caps for his country so far, a tally which will surely increase over the current international break which sees France take on Bulgaria and the Netherlands.
