Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero is angry at West Ham United's conduct during talks to buy Pedro Obiang.

The Serie A side have been in talks with the Hammers in a bid to land Obaing, who wants to return to the club he left for England in 2015.

But with West Ham sticking to a €12m valuation, negotiations have been tough, despite Obiang having told Hammers co-chairman David Sullivan about his desire to return to Sampdoria.

The Italian side are willing to pay €10m, made up of an initial payment and bonuses.

And, according to Italian daily Il Seccolo XIX, Sampdoria president Ferrero is angry with West Ham.

He feels asking for €12m for a player who has been at West Ham since 2015 is bordering on a joke.

The two clubs held a meeting in London on Wednesday, but there was no real progress made.

It remains to be seen if Obiang will get his way and go back to Sampdoria.
