It has been a superb season for Bassey in Rangers colours as he has been able to nail down a starting spot under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Bassey has slotted in at both left-back and centre-back for the Gers this season, forming a backline with the likes of experienced campaigner Goldson.

And the 22-year-old revealed that having Goldson as a team-mate at Ibrox has made his life so much easier, as he helps him out a lot.

Bassey explained that Goldson gives him advice both on and off the pitch all the time and stressed he is always open to having a conversation.

Asked whether playing alongside Goldson is helpful to him, Bassey told Rangers TV: “What Connor has done in the past three or four years for this club has been amazing.

“And to be alongside him [on the pitch], he just makes my life so much easier.

“Just constant communication, he guides me, he tells me what I need to do, and we always speak as well, even when we are off the pitch and just talk about where I need to be.

“I send him screenshots, sometimes I feel like I am pestering him but he is always open to having a conversation which is good for me because I am always learning.

“So yes, he helps me a lot.”

Bassey and Goldson are expected to start for Rangers midweek when they lock horns with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final.
