The Whites, who are embroiled in a relegation scrap, will play their last game of this season on Sunday against Brentford, but they will need results elsewhere to go their way to ensure Premier League safety, even if they win against the Bees.
Burnley, one of Leeds’ fellow relegation candidates, will play their game in hand over the Whites tonight against Aston Villa away from home, and many believe the Lions might give them an easy challenge as they have nothing left to play for this season.
However, Leeds legend Dorigo revealed that Aston Villa assistant boss McAllister told him that his side are looking to push hard in their remaining top-flight games as they want to finish the season as high as they can with bonuses also up for grabs.
Dorigo added that Newcastle were up for a fight in their latest outing against Arsenal, which they won and expects the Magpies to do the same when they take on the Clarets on the final day of the season, which would also be a positive for Leeds.
“I looked at the way Newcastle played their role against Arsenal”, Dorigo told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“I talked to Gary Mac, about Aston Villa, and he told me they are really keen to push hard in the league.
“There’s quite a few reasons why the players need to do that, with bonuses and things so it all points to two good teams trying solidly to go for that win against Burnley.
“But we still have to think we’re going to go into Brentford and win as well.”
Other than Leeds and Burnley, Everton are the other team currently locked in a relegation dogfight and they will be in action tonight against Crystal Palace at home where a win will guarantee them Premier League survival.
