The highly-rated Toffees academy graduate attracted transfer interest from several clubs as his previous deal at Goodison Park was set to expire in the summer.

However, Everton see Warrington having a future at Goodison Park and he has put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal at the club.

Having committed his immediate future to Everton, Warrington revealed that he aims to be part of the senior squad’s training sessions as he wants to raise his game.

Warrington added that he wants to catch first team boss Lampard’s eye on the training pitch and stressed he is keen on picking the former Chelsea midfielder’s brain.

“My next goal is to go up and train with the First Team, try to impress, and give my all in every training session”, Warrington told Everton TV.

“You wouldn’t really be a midfielder if you’ve never said you have looked up to players like Frank Lampard.

“I certainly have. I want to go in and try to impress him.

“He’s always been a role model to me, and I would like to learn from him and hopefully that will make me into an even better player.”

Warrington is tipped to be part of the first team’s pre-season preparations under Lampard, who will then evaluate whether he has a role to play under him next season.
