Giovanni van Bronckhorst is looking to strengthen his squad after a season where Rangers won the Scottish Cup and reached the final of the Europa League.

The Rangers boss wants the club to challenge Celtic for the title next season and is looking at a number of areas of the squad.

There are claims that the Dutchman is interested in getting their hands on Stoke City’s left-back, Tymon, this summer, even though it would need a player sale or Champions League group stage football to afford him.

It is claimed though that Tymon is not a player the Scottish giants are looking at ahead of the transfer window.

The 23-year-old has three years left on his contract at Stoke and made 43 appearances in the Championship last season.

And it is now suggested he is not a player Rangers want as the club are not in the market for a left-back this summer.

Van Bronckhorst is looking to strengthen other areas of the squad in the upcoming transfer window.

The Rangers boss reportedly has the funds to bring in at least one starting eleven quality player before sales.
