The Whites have failed with their efforts to bolster their central midfield department in recent windows, and it is a position they are keen to reinforce this summer.

Having already confirmed two new signings, Leeds have moved to bring in a new central midfielder and identified Bayern Munich star Roca as their top target.

The Yorkshire giants have been locked in talks with the German champions over a move for the Spaniard with director of football Victor Orta overseeing proceedings.

And according to Sky Deutschland, talks have progressed smoothly as Leeds have agreed a deal with the Bavarians for the defensive midfielder, and they are looking to offer him a contract that runs until the summer of 2026.

The Whites will pay Bayern Munich €12m for Roca’s signature in addition to bonus payments as they close in on their third signing of this summer.

Leeds are yet to finalise the move and they need Roca to give the final green light.

Roca has attracted interest from clubs other than Leeds, but he is leaning towards a move to Elland Road.

The midfielder is expected to support Kalvin Phillips in the middle of the park next season and not replace him, although the England international is a top target for Manchester City at present.
