The Serie A giants are currently in direct negotiations with Chelsea for the signature of Lukaku in the ongoing transfer window.
The Belgian wants to return to Inter after just one season back at Chelsea where he failed to settle down and had issues with Thomas Tuchel’s tactics.
Inter are aiming to sign the forward on an initial loan deal given they cannot afford a transfer fee to sign him this summer.
Talks are ongoing but according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are now aiming to get a deal over the line with Chelsea for the Belgian by Sunday.
Chelsea want a loan fee of around €5m and want Inter to pay his full wages during the loan stint.
Lukaku’s representatives are trying to convince Chelsea to further lower their financial claims for the deal.
But an agreement is close and only a difference of around €5m exists between the Blues and Inter.
The Nerazzurri are also prepared to pay his wages given Lukaku is ready to accept a pay cut to return to the San Siro.
